We Build the Foundation of Your Treatment,
Starting on Day One

Your “first visit” at the Keeler Center for Headache & Orofacial Pain is a comprehensive one-hour visit. The more we know about you and your headaches, the better we can design your customized migraine management program.

Step one in this initial evaluation is an extensive, detailed history of your migraines and your overall general health. We will be mailing you a 30-page questionnaire that must be completed and mailed back so that we receive it a minimum of three working days prior to your appointment.

Once your historic profile is completed, you will meet with Dr. Lovell to discuss your particular migraine problems in detail:

  • How have you dealt with them in the past?
  • What are you doing currently?
  • Which medications or methods of treatment have been effective, if only temporarily? Which ones seem to have done little or nothing to help you?
  • What are your goals?

When we have collected all our data, the Keeler Center migraine specialist will analyze it in depth to develop your specific treatment plan. This may include medications, exercises, lifestyle modifications, traditional therapeutic interventions, and alternative therapies as indicated. Any additional lab work or imaging studies will also be recommended at this point. Your complete treatment plan will be reviewed with you during follow-up visits.

We will schedule subsequent visits to monitor your progress and address new or evolving issues related to your migraines. If you wish, we will give copies of your treatment plan to your other physicians.

The Keeler Center for Headache & Orofacial Pain, funded through a generous grant from the family of Fred Keeler II, is a migraine headache diagnosis and treatment center in Ojai, California, which offers medical care.
